Big differences when opening files in 10.6

I just got my copy of Snow Leopard and haven't installed it yet -- there's a regimen of saving off old project files and cleanup first -- but I was very interested when one of our list members pointed out this article (thanks, E!) Big change. Here's what: I create a file. Save it. Later I open it. Maybe it doesn't open in the same program I used to create it. Chaos and confusion ensues.
